Keyodo Privacy Policy
1. About this policy
Keyodo helps people who know each other keep a record of lending and borrowing vehicles and the costs they share.
This policy explains what Ridgewill LLC ("Ridgewill", "we", "us") collects and does with information when you use Keyodo, a Ridgewill app. It adds to the Ridgewill Privacy Policy, which covers your Ridgewill account, sign-in, support and our website, and explains your rights and how to contact us. Both apply when you use Keyodo. If they conflict about Keyodo, this policy controls, except that for test versions the Ridgewill Testing Terms control as section 12 explains.
2. What Keyodo collects
| Information | Why |
|---|---|
| Vehicles you add: make, model, year, color, plate, VIN, photo, odometer readings, registration and insurance expiry dates, insurer name, and cost settings | To keep the vehicle's record and calculate shared costs |
| Your driver's license and insurance details, as you report them (whether you have a valid license, expiry dates, insurance type and insurer). No images | So owners can decide who borrows |
| Requests and trips: dates, times, odometer readings, distance, costs and notes | The core record of each trip |
| Odometer, battery, fuel receipt and pump photos | Evidence for the trip record |
| Readings taken from those photos (mileage, amounts, station name) | To fill in the trip record for you to confirm |
| Location at trip start and end, for adult borrowers on plans that include it, with permission | To show the owner the trip's distance and two checks (below) |
| Cost and balance records between members | The shared cost record |
| Groups, memberships and roles | To organize who can borrow which vehicles |
| Notification settings and device push tokens | To send you notifications you choose |
| Subscription status | To provide paid features |
3. How Keyodo uses information
- To run Keyodo: keep each vehicle's record, log trips, calculate shared costs and balances, manage reservations, and send the notifications you choose.
- To keep Keyodo safe: prevent fraud and misuse, enforce the Keyodo Terms, and respond to reports.
- To improve Keyodo: understand how features are used, and find and fix problems.
- To create aggregated statistics: we may combine information from many trips and vehicles into statistics that do not identify any person or vehicle, such as average running costs by vehicle make and model, and use or publish them. We never include plates or VINs. We keep such information in a form that cannot reasonably identify you or your vehicle, we will not try to re-identify it, and we require anyone we share it with to do the same.
- Legal: comply with valid legal requests. For example, we may receive a subpoena for trip records after an accident, and we respond as the law requires.
We do not sell Keyodo information, use it for advertising, or share identifiable vehicle or trip information with dealers, insurers or other businesses for their own use.
4. Who sees what
- The owner of a vehicle, and the owner's account admin if they have one, see trips in that vehicle, including the borrower's name, readings, photos, costs and notes, and the borrower's self-reported license and insurance details.
- A borrower sees their own trips and balances, the vehicle's details and calendar, and the rate. Unless the owner hides them, borrowers of the same vehicle can see each other's names on its calendar.
- Group members see each other's names, profile photos and roles.
- Balances between two members are visible only to those two members and the owner's account admin.
- A borrower under 18: their notes and photos are visible only to the owner, the owner's account admin and the borrower.
- A borrower's guardian, for a borrower in their Ridgewill Family Group, at any age, sees the groups they borrow in, who owns each, and their completed trips: the vehicle, dates, distance and cost.
5. Service providers Keyodo uses
Keyodo uses the service providers listed in the Ridgewill Privacy Policy, and also:
| Provider | What they do for Keyodo |
|---|---|
| Anthropic | Reads odometer, receipt and pump photos (section 7) |
| Push notification services | Deliver push notifications to your phone |
| Our subscription provider | Runs the purchase screen in the app and tracks your subscription |
They may use the information only to provide their service to us. Released versions of Keyodo contain no advertising or analytics software from other companies. Test versions may include diagnostic software from a service provider that works only for us (section 12).
6. Location
If the owner's plan includes it and you allow it, Keyodo records your phone's location once when you start a trip, once when you end it, and when you record a fuel receipt. Only adult borrowers. Never in the background, and never continuously. Before the first recording, Keyodo asks for your permission, separately from your phone's own prompt, and you can withdraw it at any time in settings. Keyodo shows you when your location is being recorded, at the moment it is recorded.
On plans that include it, the owner can see where a trip started and ended, including on a map, and where a fuel receipt was recorded. When you allow location, you are directing us to share these points with the vehicle's owner and their account admin. The owner also sees the straight-line distance between start and end, and two checks: whether the vehicle was returned more than 2 miles from where the trip started, and whether the odometer mileage is lower than that distance. We keep the coordinates with the trip for as long as the trip is kept. We never use location to identify places you visit, never use it for advertising, and never sell it.
7. AI reading of photos
On plans that include it, and if the owner has turned it on, when you photograph an odometer, fuel receipt or pump display, Keyodo sends the photo to Anthropic, which runs the Claude AI model, to read the mileage or amount. We remove location and camera details from every photo when it is uploaded, and we send no name or account details with it. On iPhone, Keyodo asks for your permission before the first photo is sent. On every device, you can always type the reading yourself instead.
Under its commercial terms, Anthropic may not train its models on what we send. It deletes the photos and results within 30 days, unless it needs to keep them longer to investigate misuse or comply with law. The AI can misread a photo, so you confirm or correct every reading, and your confirmed value is the one we keep. We do not use AI to make decisions about you.
Training our own photo reading. We use your odometer, fuel receipt and pump display photos, with the readings you confirmed, to train models we build and run ourselves to read them (optical character recognition, or OCR). That lets us read photos without sending each one to an AI provider. This is on unless you turn it off: you can opt out at any time in Keyodo's settings under "Help improve photo reading", and we then stop using your photos for training. We crop each photo to the odometer or receipt where we can, it has no location data, and we never use photos from borrowers under 18. We never send your photos to another company to train its models.
8. Keyodo permissions on your phone
| Permission | Why | If you say no |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | To photograph odometers, receipts and vehicles | Type readings yourself |
| Photos | To choose an existing photo | Use the camera or type readings |
| Location (while using the app) | Start and end points of a trip, and where a fuel receipt was recorded, for adults | If the owner requires location, a trip cannot start or end until you allow it. Otherwise trips still work, and the owner sees a note that no location was recorded |
| Notifications | Trip and request updates | You see updates in the app's inbox instead |
9. Members under 18
Today, members under 18 can use Keyodo only as borrowers, and only aged 16 or 17 with a parent or legal guardian who has added them to their Ridgewill Family Group and accepted Keyodo's terms for them. For these members:
- We collect only what Keyodo needs to work. We collect no location at all.
- No advertising, no sale of their information, no profiling, and no third-party analytics, ever.
- They cannot be found by search.
- Notes and photos they submit are not posted to any public page or feed. They go only to the owner of the vehicle, for the trip record.
- Their guardian can see the groups they borrow in, who owns each group, and their completed trips: the vehicle, dates, distance and cost. A guardian cannot see their notes, photos or requests. What a guardian sees in their Ridgewill account is in section 11 of the Ridgewill Privacy Policy. We show the member what their guardian can see before they join a Family Group.
- Removing what they posted. A member under 18 can delete notes and photos they added, or ask us to at [email protected]. Deleting may not remove copies that others made or that remain for a short time in backups.
- App store age signals. Where the law requires it, Apple or Google tells Keyodo your age range and whether a parent approved. Keyodo checks this before a member under 18 can borrow, and uses the younger age if this and your date of birth disagree. These signals are used only to apply age rules, and are not shared with other Ridgewill apps.
- At 18, these protections end, and the member accepts their own agreements from then on. A member who was in a Family Group confirms that they take over the agreements accepted for them, as the Ridgewill Terms explain. If they stay in their Family Group, their guardians still see what section 4 lists.
Crash and error reports that keep Keyodo working, including in test versions, are not analytics and are not linked to their name.
10. How long Keyodo keeps information
| Keyodo information | How long |
|---|---|
| Trips, readings, costs and notes | 1 year after the trip, or 3 years on the Business plan, then deleted |
| Trip photos | Deleted with the trip. The owner's plan sets how long they can be viewed: 30 days on the free plan, 1 year on Premium, 3 years on Business |
| Vehicles | Until the owner deletes the vehicle, then deleted once no trips refer to it |
| Requests that never became a trip | Deleted 30 days after they expire |
| Requests that became a trip, with their dates and notes | Deleted with the trip |
| Push notification tokens | Until you sign out, uninstall the app, or the token stops working |
If you delete your account and owe nothing, we delete your Keyodo information, including trips you took on other members' vehicles. If the cost record shows you owe a balance, we remove your email address, username, profile photo, license and insurance details, location points, notes, groups and settings right away. We keep only your name and the trips, readings and photos tied to that balance, read-only, until it is marked settled or the trips reach the end of their retention period. Then we finish deleting your account. A balance owed to you does not delay your deletion.
11. Your choices, changes and contact
You can see, correct or delete your Keyodo information, delete your account, and ask for a copy of your information, as the Ridgewill Privacy Policy explains. You can turn off camera, photos, location and notifications in your phone's settings at any time (section 8). We will tell you about changes to this policy the way the Ridgewill Privacy Policy describes.
Questions and requests: [email protected], or Ridgewill LLC, 4049 US Highway 231, PMB 1027, Wetumpka, AL 36093, (334) 926-5955.
12. Testing Keyodo
If you test a pre-release version of Keyodo, the Ridgewill Testing Terms also apply, and the Ridgewill Privacy Policy (section 2, "If you test pre-release versions") describes the extra diagnostic and usage information test versions record and how long we keep it. Test versions of Keyodo may include diagnostic software from a service provider that works only for us. Diagnostics never include your precise location. Apart from detailed diagnostics you turn on yourself, they do not include your notes or your photos, and they are designed to leave out other members' information.
Where the Testing Terms and this policy differ about information from a test version of Keyodo, the Testing Terms control for that information. They never reduce your rights, the protections in section 9 for members under 18, or the limits on location in section 6.
Version history
- October 16, 2026 (latest)
A guardian's view of a borrower under 18 is narrower.
- A guardian in the borrower's Ridgewill Family Group sees the groups they borrow in, who owns each, and their completed trips: the vehicle, dates, distance and cost.
- Guardians no longer see notes, photos or requests, and no longer approve who a member under 18 connects with, change their settings, or delete their account.
- A member who stays in their Family Group after turning 18 keeps the same guardian view while they stay.
- Family Groups can include adults, and their guardians see the same Keyodo view.
- Location is recorded at trip start, at trip end and when you record a fuel receipt, and sharing it with the owner is your direction.
- If the owner requires location, a trip waits until you allow it.
- Keyodo checks the app store's age signal before a member under 18 can borrow and uses the younger age.
- Borrow requests that became a trip are deleted with the trip.
- We may train our own models to read odometer and receipt photos, never with photos from borrowers under 18, which you can turn off in settings.
